Chick lit aficionados, you would've had a blast the other night. After the crazy weather passed, I went out to DUMBO and hung out with Lindsey Kelk, author of I Heart New York. The UK transplant-turned-NYC editor celebrated the overseas edition of her novel at powerhouse arena with friends and fans.

I was wowed by the space. The venue is a bookstore that converts into an awesome warehouse-like venue at night. There was a nice crowd of fans and friends to add to the ambiance. While mingling and sipping on wine compliments of powerhouse books, the adorable Ms. Kelk walked in with a navy blue dress and red Mary Jane pumps. Super cute and friendly, she walked around and talked to everyone. She sat down for a few to read the first chapter, which was full of witty banter about a girl who discovers her boyfriend cheating at her bestie's wedding.

More discussion, wine and book signings followed the reading. I took a photo with the lovely lady, whose shy, humble and witty attitude made me want to go read the book ASAP. Go grab it, especially if you're looking for a book about a girl who falls upon life and love in NYC!
