When you think of Queens you think tennis, beer gardens and possibly the no longer existent W train. Well, I'm here to tell you that you should be thinking about food, wine and how you can make the most out of the culinary diversity of Queens in a single evening.

Dish du Jour Magazine will be holding their 9th Annual Food and Wine Tasting: The Cuisine of Queens and Beyond next Tuesday 9/21 at the Astoria World Manor from 6-9 p.m. Eat and drink to your heart's content at the location where scenes from Ugly Betty, The Sopranos and Gossip Girl (you remember Dorota's wedding of course) have been shot as several restaurants, wine and beer companies and specialty shops throughout Queens will be sampling different goodies throughout the night.

In addition to the epicurious festivities and delectable tastings, special guest chefs Rocco Sacremone of Trattoria L'incontro and Andrea Beaman from Top Chef, Season One will compete in the 5 Ingredient Cooking Challenge. A VIP ticket holder will also be randomly selected to participate and asked to create a fall dish from five pre-selected ingredients. This lucky aspiring chef will also win a $150 gift certificate, dinner for two at Trattoria L'incontro, a personal healthy living coaching session from Andrea Beaman and autographed copies of Andrea's books. I'll be watching from the sidelines, but I just hope we all get to sample what the chefs come up with!

General admission for this event is $55 in advance, $65 at the door (cash only). VIP tickets include the chance to be part of the cooking challenge, a gift bag and special seating and are selling for $75. Tickets can be purchased by visiting Brown Paper Tickets.
